The Georgia BBQ Association headed over to Columbus, GA for the 2024 Smoke on the Water Hogs & History BBQ Competition. We had beautiful weather and an amazing venue with 21 GBA Pro Teams. Huge Thank You to all the GBA Teams, Kids Burger Cooks, GBA Judges, and GBA Reps that made this event GREAT. When all the judging was done 319Q Won the Grand Championship and Posse BBQ Won the Reserve Grand Championship!

38 GBA teams descended on Griffin GA for a full weekend of BBQ – the 2024 Doc Holliday BBQ Championship, the 2024 Georgia State Brisket Championship, and 2024 GBA State Championship. This is truly a one-of-a-kind event – it’s the only one where you can see recreations of the famous Shootout at the OK Corral – and has some of the most sought after trophies on the GBA circuit. HUGE THANK YOU to Will Doss and his AMAZING TEAM for another great event and thank you to all the GBA Judges for your dedication to our association!

The Georgia BBQ Association headed over to Sylvester, GA for the 2024 SYLVESTER SWINE FESTIVAL. We had beautiful weather and an amazing venue, with Karen Singletary doing an amazing job as usual! We had 27 GBA Pro Teams and 7 Kids Burger Challenge Competitors. Huge Thank You to all the GBA Teams, Kids Burger Cooks, GBA Judges, and GBA Reps that made this event GREAT. 27 GBA Teams made judging extremely hard for the judges with AMAZING Q in all three pork categories. When all the judging was done Pig-eee-licious Won the Grand Championship with their Pork Entry and 319Q Won the Reserve Grand Championship holding off Posse BBQ, Off the Chain BBQ, and Shark Bite BBQ!

Huge Thank You to all the GBA Teams, GBA Judges, and GBA Reps that made this event GREAT. 30 GBA Teams made life tough for the judges there, and when all the judging was done Scott’s Smoke Shack Won the Grand Championship with their Rib Entry. 319Q was the most consistent team of the day winning the Reserve Grand Championship barely edging out Pig-eee-licious by 0.3.

We had beautiful weather and an amazing venue, with Linda Hawkins and her staff going all out as usual! We had 30 GBA Pro Teams, 14 IAW Backyard Teams, and 7 Kids Burger Challenge Competitors. Huge Thank You to all the GBA Teams, IAW Teams, Kids Burger Cooks, GBA Judges, and GBA Reps that made this event GREAT. 30 GBA Teams made life tough for the judges there, and when all the judging was done RESCUE SMOKERS Won the Grand Championship with their Pork Entry scoring a 600 in the preliminary round. This event showed what the Georgia BBQ Association is all about, BBQ Family helping another when it was needed! Thank you to Chuck & Carrie East for helping the Rescue Smokers at a moments notice!
