January 4, 2014

Called to order by Rick Godfrey

Attending:  Rick Godfrey, Danny Evans, Alex Khoury, Danny Meadows, Greg Hoyt, and Jim Sewell.

Membership Present: Harry Faircloth, Laurie Faircloth, Bart Shipley, Ed Vesely, Scotty Lawson

To use the following process to fill the temporary Board vacancy:  each Board Member will nominate two candidates from which the Board will chose 4 finalists to interview before selecting the person to fill the vacancy.

Amendment:  Jim Sewell

Second:  Rick Godfrey

To nominate the candidates during the Executive Session.

Second:  Greg Hoyt

To require all new judges to receive GBA judge training and to end the practice of grandfathering in judges trained by other associations.  (effective immediately)

Second:  Danny Meadows

To change the scoring procedure in finals judging to require decimal point scoring in each criteria and prohibiting judges from giving the same score to different entries in each criteria.  (effective immediately)

To go into Executive Session.

The Board voted to close Executive Session and return to General Session.

Treasurer—Danny Evans
Secretary—Alex Khoury

To clear existing rep assignments and for the President to reassign reps for upcoming contests.

    Great move on the scoring procedures for finals judging – in my opinion.

    That should get a universal thumbs-up! More challenging for the Judges and clearer results for the Cook Teams.
